About McKayla

DSCF6798 SM.jpg

Hi, I'm McKayla! At the age of five, I made my first cake. Although I probably spent most of the time eating batter off the spatula, my dad still gives me full credit for my mom’s birthday cake that year. My love for the kitchen continued to flourish as I grew up, especially during the holiday seasons. By the time I was 12, I knew I wanted to turn my passion for baking into a career!

In 2018, I received my degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. It was here that I learned the basics of pastry, chocolatier work, wedding cake design, bread making, and everything in between.

While attending school, I moved to Georgia to complete an externship at Sea Island Resorts. Sea Island has been voted one of Forbes' Top 5-Star Luxury Resorts for 14 years in a row! It was an honor to learn & grow under their amazing pastry team.

After graduation, I set my sights on Chicago, where I worked at a luxury boutique hotel downtown as a pastry assistant. As much as I loved the city, I felt that it was time to come back home.

I am so thrilled to be living, working, and sharing my goodies in Green Bay again!

XO, McKayla

Two Sisters, One Dream.

When the bakery opened in 2022, my little sister Keegan started helping me out part time washing dishes, helping customers, and taking photos for our social media.

Within a few months she came to work at McKayla Marie Sweets full time, and has been my right hand girl ever since! If you stop by the bakery, her smiling face will probably be the first to greet you!
